WONDERFUL INDIA
I kept telling myself I would be back in the Hot room soon and to make the most of where I was. We visited Ashrams of Swami Shivananda and Anandamayee Ma and meditated. We sat with saints and had darshan, sometimes so powerful I had to sleep for hours after. We Mediated in caves and bathed in the Ganges. It was an amazing 2 weeks.

The last part of my trip was spent in the Ashram of Swami Kaleshwar doing "Japa" (repetition of mantras) I was as uncomfortable as I was on my first Bikram Class!....Now I know that things were moving on a subtle level but at the time I wanted to run...Like I did on my first Bikram class. Or on my first Vipassana Mediatation. I was considering leaving when I opened a book written by the Swami, He said "When something magnificent is trying to enter your life, the same amount of negative forces are present trying to stop it from occurring" A light went on in my head as I pictured so many Bikram students telling me they really love Bikram Yoga but can't figure out why they can't come back! At that moment I realized clear as day "The resistance comes strongest when you are about to shift some darkness and let in some light.....The resistance is the negativity holding you back from change!
This new awareness led me to let go of the struggle I was experiencing in the Ashram and..Just like in the Bikram class when you let go, I experienced something wonderful......I left there with new eyes, a wholeness in my heart on a new path and so grateful that I had stayed.
Bikram talks about the other forms of Yoga and says we should experience them but they will not be as effective without Hatha Yoga to keep our bodies strong and minds clear for the vibrations they bring us.
I am happy to be back in my Hot room looking after "The temple of my Soul" and really enjoying the Japa now.
If you are interested in learning some sacred mantras, a senior teacher of Swamis' will be in Australia in April. Click here for details.
BUT KEEP UP YOUR BIKRAM PRACTICE and I assure you, you will experience such peace...
